2021 Nissan Titan vs. Toyota Tundra

2021 Nissan Titan vs. Toyota Tundra

Overview

Both the Nissan Titan and Toyota Tundra are popular pickup trucks. While the 2021 Tundra is a good truck for daily driving and off-roading, the 2021 Titan — with its massive engine — is a powerful truck that can tackle any job big or small.

Exterior Styling

The 2021 Titan comes in five trims with two cab configurations and two bed lengths. With a muscular stance, modern styling, and wide body, the Titan strikes an athletic pose with an eye-catching look. The 2021 Tundra comes in six trims with two cab configurations and three bed lengths. While it's rugged-looking, the Tundra has less contemporary styling than the Titan.

Power and Performance

Under the hood of the Nissan Titan is a massive 5.6-liter V-8 engine that pumps out 400 horsepower and 413 pound-feet of torque. A nine-speed automatic transmission pairs with this mighty engine. Rear-wheel drive comes standard across the trims; you can opt for four-wheel drive when you need more traction. When the Titan is properly equipped, this pickup truck has an impressive towing capacity of 11,040 pounds. The Toyota Tundra has a 5.7-liter V-8 engine that delivers 381 horsepower and 401 pound-feet of torque and this engine pairs with a six-speed automatic transmission. As with the Titan, rear-wheel drive comes standard, and there's available four-wheel drive. When properly equipped, the Tundra can tow up to 10,200 pounds.

Interior and Technology

Depending on the cab and bed configuration, the Titan has room for five or six people. As you move up the trims, you get luxury features such as leather upholstery, power-adjustable front seats, and a power-sliding rear window. The upper trims of the Titan come with a 9-inch touch screen with navigation and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration. Available features for the Titan include a rear-seat entertainment system and a panoramic sunroof. All trims of the Tundra have seating for six people and the interior comes with cloth seating or full leather seating on the upper trims. Toyota's infotainment system features an 8-inch touch screen with smartphone integration and on the upper trims, navigation, and an upgraded audio system. Both trucks come with advanced safety and driver-assist features including blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, a lane mitigation system, and a forward-collision warning with automatic emergency braking. When you want a pickup truck that has loads of power with a lot of towing capacity, the 2021 Nissan Titan stands out from the 2021 Toyota Tundra.
