How to Use the Nissan Remote Starter Feature

On a cold, crisp morning having the ability to start your car from afar can be a blessing. You can sit and finish your coffee while the car gets warmed up. These remote start features are getting more and common among new models, and it's easy to see why.

Many Nissan models come with an available remote start feature. However, these Nissan models are little different. While most new cars use a key fob button to activate remote start, Nissan offers remote start capability through its NissanConnect mobile app.

NissanConnect makes car ownership smarter and easier. From information to remote access, this feature lets you get more from your car. Here's how to use remote start with NissanConnect:

  1. Open the NissanConnect Services app.
  2. Access and Activate the Remote Start function.
  3. Your Nissan will start and run for ten minutes. If you don't start driving within that window, the car will automatically shut off again.
  4. If you need an extra ten minutes before you start driving, you can send another remote start command.
  5. When you're ready, hop in and start driving.

If you would like to see a demonstration of this feature in person, simply visit your local Rockville, MD Nissan dealership. We'll walk you through the various mobile app functions and show you how to remotely start a new Nissan model.
