In Maryland, cars should be inspected every two years. The Vehicle Emissions Inspection Program (VEIP) notifies drivers before their vehicle’s due date. This notification will be provided either by email 11 weeks before the due date or by mail 6-8 weeks before the due date.

In such cases, you would then submit your test results to the Maryland Department of Transportation Motor Vehicle Administration (MVA) to be recorded in their database.
